Fundamentals of Electrical Power Engineering: From Theory to Machines

Overview

This textbook covers subjects related to single-phase alternating current, three-phase alternating current, electrical switchgear and transformers. It presents the necessary concepts for understanding the physical processes that appear in the most remarkable electric power machines. From Ohm’s Law to Faraday’s Law among others, the chapters provide an outlook of the basics of electrical engineering for the development of practical applications. Throughout the book, figures and diagrams are used to help the reader understand the concepts and the path of energy during the operation of electrical machines. Addressing to a first-year course in an electrical engineering curriculum, its main strength lies in connecting complex concepts to practical applications, giving students a deep foundation to understand and analyze real-world electrical systems with confidence.
