Author Information

Michael Kamprath is assistant general counsel for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority where he focuses on the expansion of Tampa International Airport. He is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar and is licensed in Alabama and Florida. Michael attended Case Western Reserve University where he received degrees in Civil Engineering and Economics and law school at the University of Florida. Michael is active in the American Bar Association (ABA) and the Florida Bar. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) selected Michael as one of its members on the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC). Michael is an editor of the Journal of Legal Affairs and Dispute Resolution in Engineering and Construction. He is a Leadership Florida alumnus. Jessica Bogo is a nationally recognized construction litigator, with considerable experience guiding clients through all aspects of the construction process from licensing and pre-construction to contracting, project delivery, claims, and dispute resolution. Jessica is active with the ABA Forum on Construction Law and is the current chair of the Legal Advisory Committee for the Associated General Contractors of California, the current chair of the Construction Law Section of the California Lawyers Association, and a frequent speaker on construction law issues. Jessica is a partner at Ralls Gruber & Niece LLP in San Francisco, California, and, prior to joining Ralls Gruber & Niece, was a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Jessica received her B.A. degree from Davidson College and her J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Lauren Catoe is assistant general counsel of AECOM Hunt, where she has been the primary in-house legal point of contact for projects such as SoFi Stadium (home of the National Football League’s (NFL’s) Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams), Intuit Dome (home of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA’s) Los Angeles Clippers), Moody Center at the University of Texas (a premier entertainment venue that also is home of the Texas Longhorns basketball teams), and the Terminal 3 Modernization at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Prior to joining AECOM Hunt, Lauren was a shareholder in the Tampa office of Carlton Fields, and her practice was focused on construction transactions. That focus has carried over into her inhouse role, as the majority of her time is spent on contract preparation, review, negotiation, and administration. Lauren is a former editor of The Construction Lawyer, which is the quarterly law journal of the ABA Forum on Construction Law. She received her B.S. degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the University of Florida and her J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. John Ralls is a partner of Ralls Gruber & Niece LLP in San Mateo, California. He is a trial attorney who specializes in construction claims, disputes, and counseling. He has tried cases for public and private owners, general contractors, and trade contractors. He is a frequent writer and speaker on construction law topics, was an editor of the second edition of Fundamentals of Construction Law, and a former editor of Construction Lawyer. He is a fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, and is the current editor of the Journal of the American College of Construction Lawyers. Justin Weisberg, a shareholder at the Buchalter law firm, focuses on construction law, including negotiating industry contracts, mediation, arbitration, and litigation through trial and appeal. Justin is a registered professional engineer in Illinois. He received his engineering degree from the University of Illinois and his law degree from Chicago Kent.
