Reviews

Glinnen dissects the world, micro and macro, with the precision of a surgeon. He delivers his findings with the honesty of a loving doctor offering hope in his prognosis. - Caridad De La Luz, ""La Bruja"" No poet has tackled the birth and early life of his first child as Rich Glinnen does so successfully in Front to Back, his first volume of poems. Only the most stone-hearted reader, if he dared, could fail to become fascinated, as the poet is fascinated with the child's physical encounter with our very strange world. Discover it here, the strangeness, lovingly, seemingly effortlessly rendered in one apt metaphor after another. Pay attention to these words. Fall in love. - Robert Bové, author of Pandemic Poetry Reader and The UFOs of October. With all the perspective of a first-time father, poet Rich Glinnen celebrates pregnancy and family life as ""equal parts wrong turns and U-turns."" Readers are sure to smile and nod in recognition, as Front to Back offers humorous, heartfelt vignettes that leave you questioning where you fit in your own family tree. So, open the door to this wonderful first collection ""and pry open the music box once more."" - Thomas Fucaloro, author, The Only Gardening I Do Is When I Give Up (Finishing Line Press)
