OverviewCharles Haddon Spurgeon-the Prince of Preachers-is one of the most influential preachers of the past 150 years; he is also the most prolific Christian writer in history, publishing more than 140 books, thousands of sermons and letters, and a monthly magazine, The Sword and the Trowel. In this series, learn from the Prince on a variety of topics, preached from his own pulpit at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London. These topics include Calvinism, prayer, specific portions of the Bible, and many more. Each volume contains complete, unabridged sermons and annotations for historical figures, events, or locations potentially unknown to the modern reader. In this volume, Sermons on Grace, Spurgeon teaches the core concepts of the doctrine most precious to him: grace, taught within the Calvinist framework. Through 11 sermons, organized according to the Calvinist acronym, TULIP, and one treatise, learn about this prominent doctrinal system from the most famous Calvinist in history-other than maybe John Calvin himself. When I started to write a description of what Charles Spurgeon means to me, I researched the number of works by him in my library. I was astonished to find 143 hard copy books, 74 electronic books, and 187 PDFs by him or a member of his family. These statistics say a lot (about my excesses, if nothing else), but fail to fully convey the love I have for Spurgeon and his writings. At a critical time in my life-journey, God used the union of Spurgeon's love for the doctrines of grace and his evangelistic zeal to calm my troubled theological waters-one can be a Calvinist and still warmly point sinners to Christ! I thank God for Spurgeon's example of a well-balanced Christian ministry. And, I plan to add the volumes of his sermons by McGahan Publishing House to my collection! - Michael Rogers, author of Inmillennialism: Redefining the Last Days Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
