Born in Southport before moving to Wigan at the age of 14 where he soon fell ill with what became later diagnosed as Ulcerative Colitis, Matthew has always tried to find the positive to any situation. Often describing himself as A face for radio and a voice for the written word he has found a strong passion in the years for writing, with a budding side-hobby of drawings and paintings. Over his many years of writing, he has written parts towards playscripts aswell as feature length screenplays for independent film projects, before finally getting his first book published in September 2014 in an attempt to publically battle an illness he and those he cared for around him suffered in relative silence.
