OverviewA Royal Marine Commando seven man section, search for EOKA Terrorists in the Troodos Mountains on the sun baked island of Cyprus in 1956. A dangerous business for the Terrorists know the ground better and has the support of a cowed local population. However what they stumble across is altogether different. Its effect shatters their closely honed comradeship and fighting spirit, an élan developed by the young National Servicemen over weeks and months of arduous training. And down the years the find casts a long shadow over them. Years later the two surviving members of the patrol return to Cyprus. One a soldier of fortune, a mercenary, the other shackled to a floundering business and marriage. However both have an appointment with destiny, and find themselves embroiled in the events of the long hot summer of 1974 on the island as bitter warfare between Greek and Turk breaks out. Ancient powers manipulate them and events of 1956 are finally revealed and put to rest.
