OverviewThis publication provides an update on forest reference emission levels (FRELs) and forest reference levels (FRLs) reported to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), for a total forest area of 1.35 billion ha. Never before have so many countries reported at this level of transparency on deforestation and forest degradation trends and associated greenhouse gas emissions.By September 2020, 50 countries had reported on forest reference emission levels (FREL)/forest reference levels (FRLs) to the UNFCCC, including 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, 19 in Africa, and 15 in Asia and the Pacific. Encouragingly, the report notes that developing countries increasingly report to the UNFCCC on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation Plus (REDD+), using ever-improving methods and approaches. This update on REDD+ forest reference (emission) levels and REDD+ results also shares relevant developments under the Green Climate Fund concerning REDD+ results-based payments Full Product DetailsAuthor: Food and Agriculture OrganizationPublisher: Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Imprint: Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Volume: 19 Weight: 0.333kg ISBN: 9789251335109ISBN 10: 9251335109 Pages: 74 Publication Date: 30 March 2021 Audience: Professional and scholarly , Professional & Vocational Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Not yet available ![]() This item is yet to be released.
