OverviewNelda Villines is a retired diplomat. She served 31 years overseas at numerous American embassies, 27 years on the continent of Africa. Follow Nelda's journey from her rural roots in tiny Wolf, Seminole County, Oklahoma, to Washington, D. C., Europe, Central America and Africa as she walked the path God prepared just for her. From Finland and the USSR, now Russia, to a military invasion in Lesotho, collaring an elephant in South Africa, trekking gorillas in Uganda, photographing leopards in Kenya and Zambia, her encounters will introduce you to people from various cultures and traditions bringing insight into their lives and challenges. In 2006, Nelda received the Secretary of State Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad for Africa. Hundreds of African children have benefitted from her generous and caring assistance over the years. She continues to support HIV/AIDS women and children in Eswatini (Swaziland) in Southern Africa. Nelda is an avid photographer and has published 46 photo books about African wildlife and people.
