Ivana Krajcinovic describes the establishment, operation, and demise of the Fund that brought mining families from the backwater to the forefront of medical care in less than a decade. Having received her Ph.D. in economics from Yale University, Ivana Krajcinovic is now an organizer, working with the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union in Northern California.
