Froggy Girl

Overview

Froggy Girl is about a little girl who wishes to be a frog. Her parents, teacher and friends wanted her to be happy, so they supported her new froggy identity. However, she realized that she couldn't do all the froggy things and didn't fit in with the other frogs, so she got sad. Froggy Girl tells the story about how this little girl learned a valuable lesson about appreciating how she was born as a beautiful little girl.

Author Information

Pamela Garfield-Jaeger is a California licensed social worker with over 25 years of clinical experience with children and families. She has worked in schools, residential programs, community clinics, hospitals and in private practice. In addition, she was a supervisor for ten years. Pamela had to leave her full-time work due to a health issue and has focused on empowering parents and their families as they navigate the mental health system. Pamela has written a ""Parents Guide to Mental Health"", available on her website, www.thetruthfultherapist.org, and she has written the book, ""A Practical Response to Gender Distress: Tips and Tools for Families"", available on online. Pamela knows that grounding children in reality helps ease their anxiety. Also, she believes in helping children address underlying causes of identity distress. These beliefs inspired Pamela to write ""Froggy Girl"" because she saw so many books for children with the message that they could be born wrong and Pamela wants children to know that they were born right.
