Overview

This book is the story of a special friendship between Fr Gerry Reynolds and Rev Ken Newell. In 1999, 'Pax Christi' honoured them for their work for peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. Their friendship brought into being 'The Clonard-Fitzroy Fellowship,' which brought together the people of The Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, at Clonard Monastery, and of The Fitzroy Presbyterian Church. The work of Newell and Reynolds in religious reconciliation provides the context for their work in political reconciliation, in which they worked closely with Fr, Gerry's colleague at Clonard, Fr. Alec Reid. As this book tells their story of courage and grace, we readers can be encouraged to believe that our lives can also be changed, and that we can be what the gospel intended us to be -- at peace with God and with each other.
