Author Information

Nicola de Jager, PhD, is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. She has written several book chapters, articles in refereed journals and papers on government and democracy. Pierre du Toit is a Professor in Political Science at the University of Stellenbosch, specialising in state-building and democracy, peace processes and ethnic con--flict, democratic consolidation and identity politics. He is the author of South Africa's Brittle Peace - The Problem of Post Settlement Violence (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2001) as well as many book chapters, journal articles and papers.
