OverviewHyperopia is a common refractive disorder characterized by image focusing behind the retina, resulting in blurred near vision. It is often overlooked and neglected, especially in low-resource environments. The aim of the present study, entitled ""Frequency of hyperopia in adults: the case of the Cliniques Universitaires de Lubumbashi, 2023-2024"", was to determine the proportion of adults affected and to describe the main characteristics. This was a retrospective descriptive study based on patient records from the ophthalmology department. Analysis of the data revealed a significant frequency of hyperopia among the subjects examined, confirming its importance in the adult population. These results underline the need for early detection and increased awareness of visual health to improve the care and quality of life of the patients concerned.
