Reviews

Skillen expertly pinpoints the major reasons for the demise of freedom of speech in Russia... The book is well-written, and the author shows a great depth of knowledge about the post-Soviet Russian media and politics. Ilya Yablokov, The University of Leeds, The Russian Review Freedom of Speech in Russia is a brilliant and thought-provoking analysis of its topic, exposing the fragility of the entire notion of uncensored communication in Russia. Jason C. Vaughn, British Association for SLavonic and East European Studies (BASEES)
