He was a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University, Massachusetts. During the course of his career, he received many grants and scholarships including the Stephen Robert Memorial Prize in Excellence and a Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship.
