In this dark romance retelling of Mary Shelley's horror classic, Frankenstein, ""The Creature's"" revenge plan against his creator takes an unexpected turn. Adam Roberts is your typical college professor: smart, unassuming, and dedicated to his work. Everything changes when his house is set on fire and he almost dies as a result. Grace has married Victor Frankenstein, her childhood best friend, despite not having romantic feelings for him. She has no idea of the horrible crimes Victor has committed and lives in blissful ignorance of his true nature. She's resigned herself to this marriage out of guilt and hopes that one day, she will fall in love with her new husband. Fortunately for her, her plan goes out the window when she meets Adam Roberts.
