Author Information

Frank Gehry b. 1929 is a Canadian American architect and designer. Gehry graduated from the University of Southern California's School of Architecture in 1954. In 1956 he studied city planning at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. He rose to prominence in the 1970s with his distinctive style that blended everyday materials with complex, dynamic structures. Gehry's approach to architecture has been described as deconstructivist, though he himself resists categorization. His works are considered among the most important of contemporary architecture in the 2010 World Architecture Survey, leading Vanity Fair to call him ""the most important architect of our age"". Robert Tannen b. 1937 is an American artist/architect. He received a B.I.D. (bachelor's in industrial design) in Environmental Design and an MFA from the Pratt Institute. He earned a degree in graduate studies from Columbia University and New York University. Co-founder of the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans and visiting professor in Urban Design at Tulane School of Architecture in New Orleans. Robert Tannen is an artist, economic and urban development and design specialist, planner and community activist whose 60-year artistic, professional and community service career has resulted in more than $3 billion of public/private projects in the lower Mississippi Valley and the Gulf Coast. Tannen led the identification and planning of the city's 70+ historic neighborhoods and the creation of the Historic Districts Landmark Commission.
