Francesca and the magnet

Overview

Francesca is 45 years old, has a career as a lawyer behind her and an apparently orderly family life. When the law firm where she has worked for twenty years is closed due to a scandal linked to money laundering, her world collapses. Suspended from the professional register, unemployed and at risk of aiding and abetting, Francesca finds herself looking for a new job. By chance she enters a very particular recruitment agency and, following instinct rather than reason, accepts a job as an escort. From the initial embarrassment to the most daring experiences - ranging from the grotesque to the erotic - Francesca begins to discover a side of herself that she didn't know. Her inhibitions become weaker and, between encounters with men and women, group dates and extreme situations, the weight of guilt towards her family lightens. But the fear of being too much free forces her to give up everything, returning to a more conventional job as a sales assistant in a boutique. However, the ""magnet"" that attracted her to this overwhelming world continues to exert its power, so much so that the ending suggests that the adventure could begin again. A short novel that mixes eroticism, the grotesque and psychological introspection, telling the story of the transformation of an ordinary woman into an extraordinary protagonist Francesca is a lawyer, wife and mother: can such a woman be comfortable in the shoes of an escort and, even, interpenetrate her thoughts? It seems so when chance, necessity and a magnet - a dark and hitherto unknown force - begin to work in concert. No repentance, in her, not even when she lies to cover her erotic and grotesque adventures. In Francesca's story there is a sinking that becomes redemption and a subsequent redemption that will be disillusionment. But it is not easy to demagnetize a magnet, there is always the risk that the magnet will proceed in its work; secretly, under the radar, but still attracting.
