Fragments of Else Where: Book 1: Grief, Loss & Healing

Overview

Fragments of Elsewhere - Volume I is a deeply moving poetry collection that explores grief in all its rawness-loss, longing, faith, memory, and the fragile steps toward healing. Written through personal reflection and spiritual contemplation, these poems speak to the universal experience of mourning while offering comfort, hope, and quiet resilience.Drawing heavily on themes of heaven, angels, prayer, and remembrance, Henry Anastasi gives voice to sorrow without despair. Each poem acts as a fragment-moments of pain, faith, doubt, and renewal-woven together into a compassionate journey through loss and emotional survival. This volume will resonate with readers navigating bereavement, spiritual reflection, or seeking solace through poetry rooted in faith and lived experience.

Reviews

""Fragments of Elsewhere is poetry that values the texture of thoughts, images, and silence. Henry Anastasi's spare lines are beautifully complemented by the illustrations that accompany each poem, creating a dialogue between visual and verbal storytelling. Across all three volumes, the result is a contemplative, carefully curated reading experience that invites lingering rather than consumption."" - Austin Cornelison, Author of Fragments of the Heart ""Henry Anastasi's Fragments of Elsewhere trilogy is an exercise in trust. Trust in the reader, in the line, and in the power of restraint. Across the three books, he proves that fragmentation can be a strength, not a weakness. The result is a body of work that feels considered, intentional, and emotionally exact. This is a collection (and a poet) worth investing time in."" - Hayley Amor, Author of Stung by the Thorn ""Henry Anastasi's Fragments of Elsewhere reads as a sustained poetic project rather than three separate books. Each volume builds on the last, exploring memory, place, and interior displacement with control and care. The integration of illustration alongside poem is particularly effective and enhancing the sense of fragmentation while grounding the reader in tone and atmosphere. This is a thoughtful, cohesive Australian poetry series."" - Vincent Reece, Author of The Lure of the Womb ""There is a steadiness to Anastasi's voice that sets Fragments of Elsewhere apart. These poems unfold without urgency, allowing meaning to accumulate slowly across the three volumes. The work feels confident in its understatement, a hallmark of mature craft. Readers of contemporary Australian poetry will recognise a writer who understands both restraint and resonance."" - Courtney Irish, Author of Tiger
