His research interests deal with visual perception, psychophysics, and colour vision, with an emphasis on the application of mathematical methods to the vision sciences. For the last 25 years, he has been working on colour and human perception of colour. Vladimir L. Levin was a Professor of Mathematics at the Russian Academy of Sciences. Now deceased, Dr Levin’s fields of interest included functional analysis, convex analysis of extremal problems, and set-valued analysis.
