"Forty-One's Journey is a heartwarming novel about a woman, named Donna ""Fiery"" Maze, her husband Alex, their dog Tiger, and a 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe automobile. Before Alex goes off to war in 1944, Fiery promises to never sell his car. Sadly, Alex was a casualty of the war. But for more than five decades, Fiery kept her promise and the car she called Forty-One, always dreaming one day her husband would return for her and his car. Don and Ann are a young professional couple who purchased the car after unforeseen circumstances forced it to be sold. Because of items left in the trunk from the 1940s, Don's obsession turns to finding the car's original owner, which leads him to Fiery. During a series of meetings, Fiery shares many of her life's stories, and the dream she has of her husband returning. All meetings stop when the elderly Fiery goes missing, as does the car named Forty-One. But... can they be found? "Ronald ""Ron"" Forfinski (1959 - 2019) was born in Dearborn, Michigan, the son of Polish American parents. He attended Schoolcraft College and Lawrence Institute of Technology majoring in engineering. Ron lived an interesting and almost eccentric life, which included a passion for classic cars. It was that passion which inspired the beginning of this novel. He also enjoyed volunteering his time to his Knights of Columbus Council and Assembly, where he chaired their meetings as Grand Knight and Faithfull Navigator, respectively. John Farren is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, who served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. After his military service, John attended evening university classes while working in the telecommunications industry. In 1990, he moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, working in his company's college and university division. There he served as a Regional Sales Manager, until his retirement. He then became more active in the Knights of Columbus rising to the leadership position of Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator within in his Council and Assembly. It was during this time John met Ron, and the two became good friends. When John and his family moved to Florida, the two authors and their families often vacationed together. It was during one of these vacations when their collaboration on Forty-One's Journey began. John's family and Ron's widow remain close friends to this day."
