Bischoff's book is an excellent example of how descriptive work in the tradition of the American Structuralists combined with fieldwork can inform minimalist analyses and thus shed light on the nature of Universal Grammar. Shannon Bischoff is Assistant Professor of Linguistics at Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne, USA. He is co-editor of MITs WPELFL Studies in Salish. His work has appeared in Studia Linguistica, Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications, Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural, and elsewhere. He is also the creator of the online Coeur d'Alene Archive and dictionary.
