Maine has its share of industry, some current and some obsolete. Over the last century, many industrial practices have grown and flourished while others have vanished entirely. Likewise, state institutions have seen vast changes in their structures and methods of operation. Changes to our industry and institutions have left behind artifacts of a bygone era. Author Information

Arend Thibodeau's photography background consists of twenty-five years of field work resulting in multiple publications across various disciplines. As an artist, Arend has been drawn to urban exploration for over a decade, and his abandonment imagery has been in gallery shows throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. As a writer, he has published works of non-fiction and poetry. He is also a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor society. Arend has also been a registered Maine Guide for more than twenty years, and he enjoys exploring while introducing others to the diversity and wilderness of Maine.
