Forgive Me God But I Did Not Choose

Overview

Born into a Christian family in Lebanon, author AK has seen his country torn apart by religious intolerance-and yet refuses to buy into the blame game himself. He defied everyone, and married the love of his life, a Muslim; and while the couple's families eventually chose to accept their union, they still face the constant question: what are your kids going to be? In an effort to confront the deeper question that spurs most religious debate-which religion is the one?-AK wrote Forgive Me God, But I Did Not Choose, a unique book detailing his personal experiences navigating the boundary lines of various religions. In it, he logically considers the big picture question that has haunted him for so many years: How can a person be accountable for a religion that he didn't choose, given that virtually the majority of people embrace the religion they were born into? What if you didn't have to fear making the wrong spiritual decision and could simply embrace your path and encourage others to do the same? Religious reconciliation isn't a pipe dream. In fact, it might be the most rational way to live.

Author Information

AK prides on being a person who is fair when it comes to right or wrong; a person who values fairness above all, including family ties, religion, and race. He is the relentless contrarian who consistently plays the devil's advocate at every opportunity and tries his best to put himself in the other person's shoes. His personal heroes include Ghandi and Martin Luther King, who both spent a lifetime advocating the unbiased treatment of all people. AK's moto is let's be free of judgment and his mission in life continues to be the unconditional acceptance of others. He hopes to see the day where all people accept different religions as varying ways of attaining the same goal, and believes once that fundamental principle is embraced, all religious hatred will be subdued.
