Overview

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who remain behind until the coming of the Lord, will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep, because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Willem J. Ouweneel is professor emeritus of philosophy and systematic theology at the Evangelical Theological Faculty, Leuven, Belgium. He holds PhD degrees in Biology (University of Utrecht, 1970), Philosophy (Free University in Amsterdam, 1986) and Theology (University of the Orange Free State in Bloemfontein, 1993).
