OverviewForensic pathology applies principles of pathology and medicine to determine cause, manner and time of death in medicolegal contexts. It combines meticulous autopsy technique with interpretation of injuries, toxicology and scene findings to answer legal and public-health questions. This volume offers a structured guide to postmortem examination, emphasizing systematic approaches to external and internal inspection. It contextualizes findings with applicable forensic techniques--toxicology, histology, and molecular tests--while explaining their limitations and interpretation. Practical checklists, illustrative case examples and clear protocols make the material accessible for trainees and practicing pathologists. The book also discusses medico-legal reporting and communication with law enforcement, helping readers translate scientific findings into robust legal testimony.
