He has served as American Library Association Councilor for the North Carolina Library Association, and on the Committee on Standards, ALA. Judith F. Davie serves as the Media Specialist at the Hampton Year-Round School, Greensboro, North Carolina. She is the recipient of the North Carolina Association of School Librarians' Mary Peacock Douglas Award for outstanding contributions to school libraries, and the National School Library Media Program of the Year Award, American Association of School Librarians, ALA.
