Overview

Not all shivah houses are the same. Expressing one's feelings at a shivah is not easy for most people. Participating in the age-old Minchah and Maariv prayer services enables those present to speak with G-d. By merging existing texts from the Minchah and Maariv services with new writings from Rabbi Shawn B. Zell, expressing feelings of grief and assurances of comfort is made accessible. Author Information

Rabbi Shawn B. Zell, a native of Winnipeg, Canada, possesses a master's degree in Jewish Education as well as two separate rabbinic ordinations and certification in counseling. Prior to writing For Those Who Grieve, Rabbi Zell authored Passover Points to Ponder and The Right Word. Rabbi Zell has served in pulpits for close to 40 years in Iowa, New Jersey and for the past fifteen years in Texas.
