For Pete's Sake

Overview

This story is about an ordinary family who through no fault of their own found themselves fighting for a better life for their severely brain-damaged son. It is written from their son's point of view, chronicling his life, the good, sad, happy and devastating. It is a tribute to his parents' love, devotion and dedication, and he is trying to say thank you to them for all they have done. It will touch the hearts of everyone who has struggled with the long-term physical or mental heath problems of someone they love, whatever their age.

Author Information

Katherine Raphael is a traditional daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who watched with admiration the effort and sacrifices her parents made for her brother. She is a qualified psychiatric nurse and sees on a daily basis how families are battered by the emotions of dealing with traumatic situations. Katherine wrote this book as a thank-you to her parents on behalf of her brother and she would hope that it would help others realise that all their efforts are not in vain, and give them the strength to carry on with the knowledge that all they do does not go unnoticed.
