Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationBorn at 13,000 feet in the Bolivian Andes, Lito Tejada-Flores has spent most of his life in the mountains, or thinking about mountains, climbing them, skiing them, admiring them, and sharing them with as many people as he can, as a ski teacher, filmmaker, writer, publisher, book designer, and occasionally, poet. Best known for his Breakthrough on Skis books and videos, Lito was lucky to be a bit player in the golden age of Yosemite rock climbing. His fascination with Alpine history took him to Chamonix as a young climber, and ultimately to more distant mountains in search of new routes, in Alaska, and Patagonia. Climbs and climbing, mountains and mountaineering have defined much of Lito's life. He helped put the climbing adventure into print as long-time editor of Ascent magazine. Today Lito lives half the year in Chilean Patagonia, half the year in the Colorado Rockies, with his true love, photographer, LInde Waidhofer.
