The strange story of twelve year old, football crazy Connie Cooper’s quest for an international football cap. Football crazy Connie Cooper was super-excited to be selected to play in the Final Trial for the Wales girls’ underthirteen football team. A week before the Trial when her parents are travelling to Paris to celebrate their wedding anniversary Connie decides to stay at home. She wants to spend the time at her Granddad’s house practising her football skills. Connie’s Granddad is an engineer and inventor. He convinces Connie that his latest invention, an electric helicopter, will be ideal to transport the whole family from their homes in South Wales to the football trial in the north of the country. He suggests a test flight. Will Connie risk travelling in Granddad’s ramshackle helicopter? Will she get to North Wales safe and sound? Or will the flight take her somewhere else? To a place she’d never even dreamed of?
