An avid explorer with a penchant for volunteerism, many of her stories are inspired by her world travels on land and at sea. Her award nominated book, Flares Up: A Story Bigger Than the Atlantic, tells the true tale of why two middle-aged men rowed a 20 foot wooden boat 3,000 nautical miles across the ocean and how the experience affected their families and changed them as human beings.
