OverviewThe purpose of this book is to provide insight and guidance in the application of fundamental principles and useful techniques for managing both types of change. Chapter 2, Operations Strategy, discusses establishing the boundaries and characteristics of effective and efficient production and operations processes. Chapter 3 discusses two critical operations aspects: product design and process technology. Chapters 4-8 describe key process characteristics (Structure, Flows, Capacity, Variation) and techniques for measuring process performance, complemented by chapter supplements which extend techniques and examples.
