Overview

The purpose of this publication is to provide guidance for command, control, and communications specific planning, coordination, and interoperability for an integrated air defense system (IADS). It facilitates decisions by highlighting link and communications architecture and interoperability capabilities to be considered by the joint force commander (JFC) and subordinate functional and Service component commanders when developing an IADS. The target audience is JFC/joint task force staff planners, component and functional commanders, and those unit commanders participating in and providing assets to a theater or specific area of operations. Additionally, it provides the warfighter and planner with asingle-source reference for specific Service air defense capabilities and limitations.
