Flowers in the Garden

Overview

What if the flowers we buried could speak? flowers in the garden is a poetic chapbook where herbal medicine meets the weight of human experience. Each piece personifies a medicinal plant-poppy, burdock, yarrow, and more-giving voice to the wild things we so often pick, pluck, and tear apart in our search for healing. Through vivid prose and raw poetic form, these stories explore grief, survival, and the quiet magic rooted in every petal. Blending botanical folklore, emotional intimacy, and the quiet rage of remembrance, flowers in the garden is a tender excavation of what it means to grow through what you grieve. Whether you're an herbalist, a poet, or simply someone who's ever loved and lost, this collection invites you to listen to the whispers between the weeds. Published by Thistle & Thread Press, this chapbook is a tribute to both the plants that heal us and the stories that haunt us.

Reviews

""The chapbook is seriously amazing. Seriously. I love that you give those herbs as voice along with some deep emotions in it. That is a very fascinating way of thinking and writing on. I bet you had a ton of fun coming up with it."" B. Neary

Author Information

Tyler Steven Tittle is a disabled poet, designer, and independent publisher based in Wisconsin. He's the founder of Thistle & Thread, where he not only runs the business, but continues to write, design, and create each piece of his own work by hand. His writing explores grief, healing, and transformation through a raw and intimate lens. When he's not working, Tyler can usually be found hiking through the woods with his camera, partner, and their dog, drawing inspiration from the resilience of nature and the healing found in slowing down to drink in the world around you.
