Cynthia West says, ""The Santa Fe River, that I've walked almost daily throughout the seasons, is my friend, my mentor, my muse and my inspiration. I owe many of these poems to her. Harvesting the years, I've gathered armloads of the bright times and the dark, shaped them into windows opening on views of the understanding that breathes all life. I've honored the gold of relationships as one body, one family of friends, ancestors, plants, animals and all beings. In sunlight, moonlight and starlight, I've sung the love without which there is no art."" Known for her visionary paintings, West is also a poet, photographer, digital imager and book artist. Her home and garden, in the Santa Fe River Valley, where she has lived for over fifty years with her husband and family, is a healing center as well as her studio and gallery.
