Er kreierte auch das Wort ""Planxty"", das sind musikalische Grüße und Dankeslieder zu Ehren seiner Gastgeber und Unterstützer. ""Flatpicking"" ist eine Spieltechnik auf Saiteninstrumenten, vornehmlich auf der Gitarre.
