Overview

A classical drama.based on Igor Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. A restless Wind finds a Flower of Flame hidden in a cave. They fall in love. She wants to be free from the soil that holds her so she can follow her love. She is hurt when she leaves the soil. She dies. Wind is filled with remorse but leaves filled with the scent of her fragrance.

Russian born Michael Chepourkoff ( 1899-1955) was active in San Francisco's art scene in the 1930' and 40's.He was a sculptor who made animals and figures by cutting and bending flat sheets of metal into rounded shapes.He also was a prolific painter and printmaker.
