Overview

In Fixed Broadband Wireless Communications, wireless consultant Dr. Douglas Morais introduces today's most advanced fixed broadband wireless solutions for delivering multi-megabit voice and Internet/data services from ""long-haul"" to ""last mile"" applications. Morais covers virtually everything working professionals need to know to implement reliable, high-performance systems, from basic theory to advanced optimization. He reviews signal formats, microwave propagation, link optimization, diversity, and point-to-point systems-both licensed and unlicensed. He then introduces state-of-the-art point-to-multipoint and mesh systems, covering TDD, FDD, TDMA, FDMA, CDMA, OFDM, OFDMA, MIMO, Adaptive Beamforming, and emerging standards such as WiMAX supported 802.16/16a and HIPERMAN.
