OverviewWarning. The story of Five Women cannot be told without strong language and high levels of violence and is not suitable for readers under eighteen years. Five Women explores themes of love, choice, sacrifice, and the human desire for freedom. The story is set in the near future in a dystopian world ruled by Karnetta Monad, the self-proclaimed One True Living God. The story explores the lives of five women-Helen, Lady Jane, Karnetta, Edith, and Stella-against the backdrop of a Resistance movement fighting to overthrow Karnetta's oppressive regime. Helen: Helen is a brilliant and adventurous woman who becomes immortal after a near-fatal accident. Her partner Michael, (Soldier One, the first immortal soldier), secretly administers the immortality pill to save her life, sparking her anger for taking away her choice. Helen struggles with the revelation of Michael's past as the first immortal Resistance soldier and his lingering love for Lady Jane. Despite her initial resentment, Helen eventually forgives Michael, and together they work to defeat Karnetta. Lady Jane: Lady Jane was a manufactured celebrity and symbol of perfection under Karnetta's rule. She was deeply loved by Michael but is murdered by Karnetta during Karnetta's rise to power. Lady Jane's death fuels Michael's hatred for Karnetta and ignites his resolve to lead the Resistance against Karnetta. Lady Jane's legacy haunts Michael until Karnetta's defeat allows him to let go of the past. Karnetta: Karnetta is the embodiment of evil, ruling the world through fear and executions by incineration. Her reign is marked by insanity and cruelty, including her obsession with Michael. Karnetta's downfall comes when the Resistance, aided by defectors within her forces, storms her castles. She dies in her own incinerator, consumed by her madness and hate. Edith: Edith is mother of Helen, and the Resistance's chief tactician and 'seer' of patterns. Despite her ordinary appearance, she plays a pivotal role in organizing the Resistance and guiding its strategies. After Karnetta's defeat Edith becomes the world president, leading humanity toward freedom and self-determination. Stella: Stella, Karnetta's mother, lived a tragic life as a pawn in the power games of the world's two richest families, the Monad and Vegas dynasties. Used and abused, Stella's despair culminates in her death before the monstrous Karnetta reaches the position of World President. The Resistance's victory is achieved through meticulous planning and the use of Doppelganger', biological machines running on artificial intelligence that are doubles of their human, and alliances with defectors from Karnetta's forces. The immortal soldiers, including Michael and Helen, play a crucial role in the final battle. After Karnetta's death, the immortality pill is reversed, allowing the immortal soldiers to age naturally and live mortal lives. The story concludes with a celebration of freedom, the dismantling of the Resistance army, and the beginning of a new era. Edith leads humanity toward a diverse and vibrant future, while Helen and Michael embrace their mortality, marry, and start a family in a world of hope and renewal. Five Women is the story of how very ordinary people can become exceptional when events demand. It is written without genre and moves back and forth through styles and expectations as the story demands. There are places where the story demands high level sexual depravity and violence, and potential readers are requested to understand this is necessary to tell the story. There are other places where the story telling descends into pure farce. Overall, this is a book for readers who are ably to assimilate multiple concepts and ideas acting at the same time.
