VICTORIA CECIL WALKER is an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Orlando, Florida. She is a Florida native and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida. In May of 2001, she graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law and began her law career as a staff attorney to Judge Ricky L. Polston at the First District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee, Florida. In 2003, she worked as a senior staff attorney to Chief Justice Harry Lee Anstead at the Florida Supreme Court. After serving a one-year term at the Supreme Court, she returned to Orlando and worked as an associate for the law firm of Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D'Agresta, P.A. in the areas of commercial litigation and local government law. After realizing a preference for the public sector, Walker became an Assistant City Attorney. Prior to law school, she worked in the legal profession as a file clerk, receptionist, legal secretary, and paralegal in the areas of criminal defense, insurance defense, and medical malpractice. During her law school career, Walker interned for Justice Anstead at the Florida Supreme Court, Judge Chris W. Altenbernd at the Second District Court of Appeal in Tampa, Florida, and Chief Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa, Florida. She has published articles in Court Review magazine and the Florida Bar Journal.
