Reviews

What comes over in this modest, but well-written account is the sheer fitness and can-do attitude of the marines. This does not disappoint. Sheelagh Birks - Reviewer 'A must for military buffs.' MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS This was an enjoyable, informative and delightful read. I picked it up in the morning and had finished it by nightfall. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in military history or any kind of book involving the deeds of special forces. Stephen Bentley - Reviewer It is always interesting to read about the incredibly gruelling training required to achieve full status in these units. This is a thoroughly enjoyable read for anyone who is interested in the subject. Janice Bell (Reviewer) Good first-hand telling of how things actually are in the SBS. Very readable. Brian Abbott (Reviewer)

Author Information

Duncan Falconer is a former member of Britain's elite Special Boat Service and 14 Int., Northern Ireland's top-secret SAS undercover detachment. His first book, the bestseller First Into Action, documented the real-life exploits of the SBS. After more than a decade of operational service he left the SBS and went into the private security circuit. In the past few years, Falconer has operated at length and often alone in places such as Afghanistan, the Nigerian Delta, Palestine, Liberia and throughout Iraq, sometimes writing his books while bullets shower the compound he is staying in.
