Overview

The focus of this volume is on the relationship of physical properties to fabrication processes and microstructures of metal-matrix and polymer-composite materials. Discussion includes experimental and theoretical work in the area of electrical and thermal conductivities, co-efficients of thermal expansion, thermal dimensional changes and hysteresis, vibrational damping, mass transport, permeability, and elastic constants. Attention is also given to measurement methods, theoretical modelling, and physical properties data. The book is a collection of papers from the 1996 TMS Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Anaheim, California, February 4-8, 1996.
