OverviewPrevious works on the Anabaptist have often been told from the viewpoint of their persecutors. This book examines English translations of the Anabaptists' own writings and offers a critical assessment. This study examines the origins of a branch of Anabaptists often called Biblical Anabaptists that originated in Western Europe during the early sixteenth century. While any group that rejected infant baptism fell under the label of Anabaptist, this study focuses on those who emerged from the Protestant Reformation, while seeking to remain anchored to scripture, and maintained a separate influence that spread throughout Europe. Their story has often been told only from the viewpoint of their persecutors. Hence their beliefs have rarely been examined from the writings of the Anabaptists themselves. This work seeks to thoroughly explore the teachings of the founders of Ecclesial Anabaptism regarding their view of ecclesiology (the doctrine of the church). Full Product DetailsAuthor: Dennis E.
