Author Information

D.J. Munroe, (pen name), resides along New England's rocky coast in her beloved city of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Born, raised and educated in the East, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at Salem State University. She worked with special needs children and their families as a Developmental Educator. Today she continues to advocate for these families, along with all families affected by a mental illness. D.J. is certified and trained by The National Alliance on Mental Illness as a NAMI Family to Family teacher, NAMI Basics teacher, and trained support group facilitator. The majority of her time is spent carrying out NAMI's mission of support, education, and advocacy for all those struggling with mental illness. She is honored to have been appointed to the Board of Directors of NAMI Massachusetts, and President of NAMI Cape Ann.
