Overview

This story charts the better-late-than-never development of Finley Connor when he begins to ask long overdue questions that challenge everything he has been taught or told, and naively, trustingly, having accepted as being true. He recalls aspects of his dysfunctional yet privileged upbringing, both good and bad, that have impacted his character as a young lad, man and father, and brought him to this point in his life. The false narrative of events taking place in the world catalyse in Finley an obsessive search for truth, and he enters the realm of the 'conspiracy theorist', unaware of the colossal impact that this is going to have on his belief system, his relationships, character, and spirituality. This deep, and at times dark, journey down the rabbit hole will, ultimately, be his ascent to madness... The author charts the life of Finley Connor, his many life experiences, mistakes and discoveries, baring his soul in an attempt to prevent the reader from making similar errors, to learn from these and to awaken to unexpected answers to some of life's many questions which, for most, are never asked. This is a novel which is both simple yet complex, funny and tragic, quick to read though long to fully digest and assimilate. It is a novel of angst, childhood memories, love, morality, family, character and a decades-long search for truth and meaning - poignant, controversial and also wryly humorous.
