Table of ContentsReviews"Fingerprints on the Mirror is a delightful read for so many reasons, especially showing what a caring young girl is like. I babysat my friend's four year old last evening, and Lucy was all ears for the words, touched the cute yet impeccably vivid illustrations, and of course requested we emulate Karlina. After a quick trip to the store to get colors, we wound up with a chalk board and chalk. She had such fun, and I let her express in whatever ways she wished, making for one of the easiest babysitting tasks ever! As with my own children, I asked Lucy what the book taught her. Surprisingly this four year old, said ""It is about loving yourself and others, and made me want to write in the clouds."" From the mouth of a little girl. My interpretation was a little different, as I felt it was a reminder to cherish every moment of a child's life, messes and all. Mary Ann Vitale will be my go-to author when I babysit Lucy next week. Well written stories for children to easily identify with, is a talent. Kudos to the author! I would describe this children's book as clever and fun. Its about a little girl who leaves her ""mark"" on the world around her (the mirror, window, wall, tv, floor, you name it) with fingerprints, hand prints, and loving words, as well as words expressing her desire to be loved and accepted. Sharing this book with your kid's is a great way to teach them the value of showing and expressing love to others, and its also a chance to let them know they are loved and accepted. The images are colorful and fun. The rhymes are great too. I'm pleased to recommend this book for bedtime reading (or anytime reading). Fingerprints on the Mirror by Mary Ann Vitale is a sweet, rhyming story about a little girl who spreads her love and joy through her fingerprints. She leaves them everywhere she goes to show everyone how much she loves them. All the characters are cute, colorful and smiling with happy eyes. I suggest it for young and old for a feel-good story."
