Author Information

Aged just 16, Paul Baker joined the British Army. He had a fulfilling career that led him all over the world – to places like Belize and the Falkland Islands – before he left to find his true vocation. He has over 30 years’ experience working in the leisure industry – starting in the fitness sector and then moving into managing and designing sporting facilities – and now he is the author of Finding Fame, a memoir identifying the traits and challenges that shaped his life.   Paul’s martial arts background and army training taught him the importance of discipline and resilience, qualities he continues to use in all other areas of his life. Underlining everything he does is his knowledge of how mindset can set you up for success, how failure is a learning experience, and why exercise is so important for both body and mind.   Covid-19 was a real game changer; destroying lives, devastating economies, and exposing vulnerabilities, it was tough on everyone. March 2020, therefore, became the catalyst for Paul putting pen to paper and writing his memoir – an ambition years in the planning.   Paul now lives in Sussex with his partner and two children. He spends his leisure time walking and cycling, and – when time permits – he also enjoys mountaineering and international travel.
