Table of ContentsReviewsThe lyrical rhyming prose of this book combined with the beautiful watercolor illustrations convey a calm and centered way of being that enables a child to travel the road from worried to relaxed. It tells the story of a little girl who is coming home from school with her older brother feeling very upset about her day. She wants to go see her grandmother and feels that will help her feel better. When she gets to her grandmother's house the setting is so beautiful, and her grandmother models taking deep breaths and imagining a place inside herself that she can go to center herself. Giving this place a name, finding her ""Woo-Woo"", is so central to the success for this process for children. It's something concrete that they can attach to this method, and will help them remember it. Having her brother encourage her and be a part of the process is endearing. Acknowledging that ""big feelings"" are natural and normal is so key to children being OK with experiencing them. I applaud the author for taking on this subject in such a direct and accessible way, and foresee it making a difference in classrooms, with social workers, counselors and school psychologists.
