Fifty Dad Tales: A light-hearted memoir of short stories without the boring bits

Overview

In 1988, my life was turned upside down. A serious injury threatened all my dreams. Medical experts told me that PE teaching and playing football again were a 'one in a million' shot. My fight to prove them wrong dominated part of my life. Many people told me to share my story, to inspire resilience in others. I wanted to do that, but my life was so much more than one incident. My upbringing, silly experiences, and beautiful children, brought me far more laughs than tears. So rather than concentrate on just one aspect of my life, I decided to write 'Fifty Dad Tales: A light-hearted memoir of short stories without the boring bits.' Oh, and before I wrote them, I told most of them to my two youngest children - their views certainly give many of the tales an added twist! Never Give Up!

Author Information

In 2018, aged 49, I went part-time after twenty-five years in teaching. My son has autism, and he badly needed routine in his life.Nearly every day since then, I have taken my two youngest children to and from school. On the journey, my children love to hear the stories of my past and present. They also love to add their views, which are often unexpected!Fifty Dad Tales are my pick of the best stories of my life. My hope is some will inspire, and most of the tales make you smile. x
